How it all started
After spending a few years in Johannesburg, I returned to Nelspruit ready for a fresh start—but finding a job proved challenging. So, I decided to create my own opportunity. I reflected on my strengths, passions, and how I could turn them into something meaningful—not just for myself, but for my community too.

That’s when I turned to my longtime beading hobby. I quickly realized that there was a lack of access to beading supplies and information in the area. That gap in the market sparked something in me. It was the beginning of what would become Bead Me Up, Skattie.

What started as a creative outlet has grown into a business I’m proud of. This journey has taught me perseverance, the power of community, and the joy that comes from doing what you love. If there’s one lesson I hold close, it’s this: when you follow your passion, the rest tends to fall into place.
